It’s Sweet Sunday! The Black Hills Showcase Chorus, under the direction of Judy Vidal, invites you to their free Competition Preview Performance as they prepare for the six-state 2014 Region 8 Sweet Adelines’ Chorus Competition in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on May 3, 2014. Join us on Sunday, April 27th at 4:00 pm in the Performing Arts Center Historic Theater, and they will treat you to a special performance of their competition repertoire followed by a sundae social in the Performing Arts Center Lounge. This event is really their treat with no cost to you!
Black Hills Showcase is a proud member of the Allied Arts Fund and a member of Rocky Mountain Region 8 of Sweet Adelines International. The Chorus has won their division at the Spring six-state Regional Competition for three consecutive years. Director Judy Vidal has directed the chorus for over 29 years, is on the Regional Music Teaching Faculty, and is the Directors’ Coordinator on the Regional Management Team.
Sweet Adelines International is a musical force around the world. The organization is headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where it was founded in 1945. This nonprofit music education organization is one of the world’s largest singing organizations for women, encompassing more than 25,ooo members, 1,200 registered quartets, and 600 choruses in most of the 50 United States, Australia, Canada, England, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Scotland, Sweden, The Netherlands and Wales.
