Dry Jack – Readiatrics Benefit Concert

Dry Jack Jazz Band Returns to Rapid City

“Dry Jack” was a legendary jazz fusion group of the late 70’s and early 80s that recorded two highly successful albums (“Magical Elements” and “Whale City”) for Inner City Records. Dry Jack thrilled audiences throughout the U.S. and was cited in Rolling Stone’s History of Music as one of the premiere, cutting edge bands of the electric jazz movement. The group was founded by keyboardist/composer Chuck Lamb (Brubeck Brothers Quartet) and bassist extraordinaire Rich Lamb (Hazel Miller Group), both longtime Colorado residents. Dry Jack also featured Kansas City guitar wiz Rod Fleeman (Karrin Allyson) and exciting New York drummer Jon Margolis (Ernie Watts).

Returning the Black Hills 35 years later, Backroom Productions and the Performing Arts Center are presenting this legendary group on April 28 in the Historic Theater at 7:30pm.

Concert proceeds will be used to purchase books of cultural relevance for children through the Readiatrics Book Drive
