- Design your own table experience with dinner and décor inspired by your favorite decade.
- Dress the part! From poodle skirts to paisley minis, disco glam to ‘80s throwbacks, anything goes!
- We’ll take care of the rest with wine, beer, tables, chairs, linens, and music of the decades.
The night includes:
• Raffles featuring fine wines and whiskey
• Live and silent auctions with exclusive experiences
• A themed photo booth to capture the night
• Contests for best costumes and table décor
• Enter your dessert in a silent auction contest
A Fundraiser Like No Other
Together, we keep the arts center stage. Each year, this event raises nearly $50,000 to support the Performing Arts Center of Rapid City, the home of the performing arts in our community. As steward of this remarkable facility, the Performing Arts Center cares for the space, but it’s your support that brings it to life, making it possible for resident companies like Black Hills Community Theatre, Black Hills Symphony Orchestra, Black Hills Showcase Chorus, and Shrine of Democracy Chorus to thrive.

Tickets are $100 per person and can be purchased online or by calling our box office. - Design your dance.
Design your own table decorations and themed picnic dinner to match this year’s Prom Through the Decades theme. Whether you show up in poodle skirts, disco glam, neon prom looks, grunge tuxes, or Y2K sparkle, we want to see your take on prom fashion through the years. Dress for your prom decade and bring a little vintage flair to the party.. - Get your table together.
Want to sit with friends? Let us know! Tables seat 8. If you don’t have a group, don’t worry. We’ll seat you with some friendly faces.
What is a Pop-Up Party?
The Pop-Up Party is the Performing Arts Center’s signature summer fundraiser and one of the most creative nights of the year. Each summer, we pick a new theme and a new surprise location somewhere in or around Rapid City.
We provide the tent, the tables, and the chairs.
You bring the dinner, the decade, and the fun.
Every ticket includes:
- A seat at the table (we'll save you a spot!)
- A commemorative wine glass
- A full bottle of wine
- And access to one unforgettable evening
