Synopsis:

In a poor cursed Kingdom drowning in straw, the local Miller is overheard saying that his daughter, “Truly can spin straw into gold.” When news of her reaches the ears of a vain and greedy Queen, the Girl is put to the ultimate test to spin, or else she shall forfeit her life. If she succeeds she will handsomely rewarded with the Prince’s hand in marriage. Three nights she frets, and three nights a mysterious man appears and assists her, but magic always comes with a price…

This classic fairy tale is an original adaptation designed and directed by Heather Pickering, composed by Andrew Grace, and choreographed by Sara Olivier features an all-ability intergenerational cast. Set in a fairy infused ancient Ireland this tale of greed, revenge, and altruism is woven on stage in more ways than one as it seeks to explain the origins of the infamous Rumpelstiltskin. This retelling of the classic fairy tale melds together acting, contemporary dance, American Sign Language (ASL), and features an original score.
